Spiced Pear Relish

  1. In a large bowl, toss the pears with the onion, salt and jalapenos.
  2. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Drain the pears in a colander and rinse them.
  4. In a large saucepan, combine the pears with the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  5. Simmer over low heat for 25 minutes, or until thickened.
  6. Let the pear relish cool.
  7. Serve cold or at room temperature.
