Grilled Hanpen Fishcake with Mentaiko and Cheese
- 1 Hanpen
- 2 Cheese
- 1/4 of a sac Mentaiko (salt-cured spicy pollack or cod roe)
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 4 strips, each 2 cm in width Toasted nori seaweed
- Halve the cheese.
- Cut the hanpen into fourths, then make small cuts in the side just enough for the cheese to fit.
- Spread mentaiko in the slit and sandwich the cheese.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan.
- Align the hanpen.
- Grill both sides as you press it down with a spatula, making sure it doesn't open up too much.
- Wrap around with the nori strips to finish.
