Plum Jelly Recipe
- 4 c. plum juice
- 1 c. water
- 6 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 box Sure-jell
- 1 teaspoon butter
- Add in Sure-jell to juice and water and bring to rolling boil.
- Add in 1 tsp.
- butter.
- Add in all of sugar and bring back to rolling boil, stirring constantly.
- Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat.
- Skim and pour in jars and seal.
- 4 or possibly 5 pints.
- To extract juice: Wash plums.
- Just cover with water and boil till skins pop and fruit is soft.
- Remove from heat and let cold.
- Strain through jelly bag or possibly cheesecloth.
