Green Bean Supreme Casserole
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder or grated onion (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 4 oz. Swiss cheese, shredded
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 2 Tbsp. flour (all-purpose)
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 2 (1 lb.) cans green beans, drained
- 1/2 c. cracker crumbs
- In large skillet, cook onion in butter for about 1 minute, if desired to have onion.
- Blend in flour, sugar, salt and pepper. Add milk; cook until thick and bubbly.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in sour cream.
- Add beans.
- Spread 1/3 of mixture in 1-quart casserole.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 of Swiss cheese over beans.
- Repeat layers, ending with beans.
- Combine crumbs and butter; toss.
- Top beans with crumb mixture.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 20 minutes.
- Enjoy.
