Smoky Meat Balls Recipe
- 2 pound lean grnd beef
- 1/4 c. minced onions
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 garlic salt
- 1/2 c. fine cracker crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. lowfat milk
- 2 tbsp. salad oil
- 1 (1 pound 2 ounce.) bottle smoky type barbeque sauce
- 1 c. water
- Mix together till lightly blended, the grnd beef, onions, salt, pepper, garlic salt, cracker crumbs, egg and lowfat milk.
- Shape into meat balls the size of walnuts.
- Brown on all sides in warm salad oil.
- In large pan, mix together till blended, the barbeque sauce and water.
- Place browned meat balls in sauce and simmer for 15 min.
- Pour into chafing dish and serve with small picks.
- Makes about 8 dozen meat balls.
- May toast top of bread cut into various shapes and place meat balls on top of bread shapes for variation.
