Czechoslovakian Apricot Bars Recipe
- 2 c. butter
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 2 c. flaked coconut
- 8-10 ounce. apricot marmalade or possibly preserves
- Powdered sugar for a garnish
- Cream together butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
- Add in one egg yolk at a time, beating well!
- Add in gradually the sifted flour.
- With floured hands, pat 1/2 the dough into a well greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan Spread the apricot jelly over the dough.
- You can use different kinds of preserves at each end if you prefer - such as raspberry.
- Sprinkle flaked coconut over this.
- Pat remaining dough over this mix in the pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 min and lightly browned.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Let cold.
- Cut into bars.
