Holiday Dressing Patties

  1. Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sausage and cook until browned, breaking up large pieces with a spoon.
  3. Add the onion, celery, salt, and pepper and cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Stir in the broth, poultry seasoning, and celery salt.
  5. Remove from the heat.
  6. Place the bread cubes in a large bowl.
  7. Pour the sausage mixture over the bread; mix well.
  8. Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes.
  9. Shape the mixture into 8 patties about 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
  10. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons butter in the skillet over medium heat.
  11. When bubbly, add the patties, in batches if necessary, and cook until golden, about 2 minutes on each side.
