Grandma's Sour Cream Sugar Cookies Recipe

• 1 c. shortening
• 1 2/3 c. sugar
• 2 Large eggs
• 1 c. lowfat sour cream or possibly plain yogurt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 tbsp. grated orange rind
• 4 1/2 c. flour
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg

1. Cream sugar and shortening.
2. Add in Large eggs and beat well.
3. Add in vanilla.
4. Sift together dry ingredients.
5. Add in alternately with lowfat sour cream or possibly yogurt.
6. Drop by heaping tsp.
7. on lightly greased sheet.
8. Bake 350 degrees.
9. This recipe can also be used for cut-out cookies by adding sufficient flour to roll.
