Delicious Macaroni And Cheese Recipe
- 1 c. elbow macaroni Or possibly
- 2 1/4 c. bow ties
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 pound can stewed tomatoes
- 1/2 pound medium sharp cheese
- 1 teaspoon Accent
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Parmesan cheese
- Progresso bread crumbs
- Cook macaroni in boiling salted water till tender; drain and rinse.
- Heat butter in saucepan; add in onion and cook till clear; blend in flour to make smooth paste.
- Add in tomatoes and cook over low heat, stirring, till sauce is thickened.
- Add in cheese; stir till melted; stir in Accent, seasonings and cooked macaroni.
- Pour mix into 1 1/2 qt buttered casserole and bake in 350 degree oven for 15 min.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese; garnish with tomato slices if desired, and return to oven for 5 min more.
