Mom's Swedish Meatballs Recipe
- 3/4 pound hamburg
- 3/4 c. bread crumbs
- 1/4 c. chopped onions
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 3/4 teaspoon cornstarch
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 c. Crisco
- Mix all meatball ingredients except Crisco into 30 meatballs.
- Brown in melted Crisco and remove.
- Brown flour in fat from meat.
- Gradually stir in water and bouillon cubes.
- Stir till smooth and thick.
- Add in meatballs into sauce.
- Cover and simmer 1/2 hour.
- Serve with cooked rice or possibly egg noodles.
- Serves 4.
