Baked Macaroni and cheese

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions.
  2. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray; set aside.
  3. Melt butter in skillet pan.
  4. Add flour and milk to butter, and stir to a boil; reduce heat.
  5. When milk and flour thicken, set aside.
  6. Drain noodles.
  7. Place noodles back into pan and stir in cottage cheese.
  8. When well mixed and somewhat melted, set aside.
  9. Place one third of the noodles into the bottom of the baking dish.
  10. Use one third of the shredded cheese to cover the noodles.
  11. Add more noodles to the pan, layering with remainding cheese.
  12. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  13. Top with salt and pepper.
  14. Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for 20 to 30 minutes, or until browned on top.
