Stir-fried Kabocha and Jako with Butter and Soy Sauce

  1. Remove seeds and fiber from the kabocha.
  2. Peel the skin if you like.
  3. Chop into chunks.
  4. Transfer into a heatproof dish and microwave or boil until soft.
  5. Make sure you can poke thoroughly with a skewer.
  6. Put butter in a heated frying pan.
  7. When the butter starts melting, add the kabocha.
  8. Stir-fry over medium to high heat until slightly browned.
  9. Add the jako and stir-fry slightly.
  10. Drizzle in the soy sauce from the edges of the pan.
  11. Taste, season, and serve.
