Settlers Beans

  1. In a cast iron Dutch oven or other oven-proof pot, brown bacon until starting to crisp a bit, then add in ground meat and onions.
  2. Drain any fat from the pan.
  3. Stir in butter beans, kidney beans, chili beans with sauce, and pork and beans.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, ketchup, molasses, mustard powder, salt, black pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Add into the bean mixture, stirring well.
  6. Cover with Dutch oven lid, and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.

  8. If you like to camp, you can bake it in a Dutch oven over hot coals for a couple of hours.

  10. If you dont have an oven-proof pot, you can pour it into a 9x13 casserole dish and bake covered with foil for 1 hour at 350 degrees F.
