Beer Baked Beans

  1. HEAT the oil in a large saucepan and saute the onion for 5 minutes or until golden.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for a further minute.
  3. Stir in the beans, beer, golden syrup, VEGEMITE, vinegar, tomato paste and mustard.
  4. Simmer gently for 20-25 minutes or until the sauce has thickened .
  5. Serve with French toast and bacon.
  6. Note: Beer baked beans will keep, refrigerated for several days; in fact they will become even tastier as the flavours mingle.
