Stuffed Bread (Calzone)

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Heat skillet and add oil.
  3. Brown garlic, remove from pan.
  4. Brown beef and/or sausage and reserve.
  5. Saute onion, mushrooms, and peppers until soft.
  6. Add the browned meat, oregano, hot pepper, and parsley and mix through.
  7. Roll out dough to 24" x 10".
  8. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  9. Spoon the filling to form three 3" wide strips on the dough.
  10. Sprinkle cheese over the filling.
  11. Fold dough over, sealing the ends with fingers dipped in cold water.
  12. Form loaf into horseshoe, lightly making Xs on top with a butter knife.
  13. Brush lightly with oil.
  14. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour until dough turns light golden brown.
