Greek Meat Pie Recipe

  1. In a skillet, saute/fry grnd meat in extra virgin olive oil with onions till browned.
  2. Season with salt, oregano and pepper.
  3. Add in tomato sauce, cinnamon.
  4. In a small bowl, beat Large eggs and stir in cheese.
  5. When grnd meat has cooled, mix in the Large eggs and cheese mix.
  6. Butter a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  7. Arrange six sheets of Phyllo pastry on bottom of pan, buttering each sheet.
  8. Spread a layer of cooled meat mix proportionately on Phyllo.
  9. Cover with remaining six sheets, brushing each with melted butter.
  10. Trim edges of Phyllo to fit pan with a sharp knife.
  11. Slice through top of pastry to create diamond shapes.
  12. Bake in a preheated 350
