Canadian Maple Bars Recipe

  1. Makes 4 dozen for $11.12.
  2. Prep: 20 min.
  3. chill: 5 1/2 hrs.

  5. Graham Layer: Combine crumbs, pecans, coconut, chocolate and butter in bowl.
  6. Press proportionately over bottom of 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  7. Chill 30 min.

  9. Maple-Cream Layer: Beat confectioners" sugar, butter and maple syrup in bowl till smooth and creamy.
  10. Spread proportionately over graham layer.
  11. Chill till hard, about 2 hrs.

  13. Topping: Heat semisweet chocolate in cream in saucepan over low heat.
  14. Cold to room temperature, about 20 min.
  15. Pour proportionately over maple layer.
  16. Chill till hard, for about 3 hrs.

  18. Heat white chocolate in small saucepan over low heat.
  19. Cold slightly.
  20. Pour into paper cone; drizzle over Chocolate Topping.
  21. Chill till set, about 10 min.
  22. 5.
  23. Cut into 24 two-inch squares; cut each square in half for 48 bars.
  24. Freeze or possibly chill.
