Smoked Pears Served With Walnut & Butter Sauce

  1. Mixed spice brown sugar and set aside.
  2. Set up your grill for Indirect Heat.
  3. 350FA
  4. Sliced pears in half and then cut out the seeds.
  5. Sprinkle with a little salt and splash on a little lemon juice.
  6. Add about 2 teaspoon of the spiced brown sugar to each pair
  7. Place the pears cut side up on the grill over the drip pan.
  8. Add a small handful of wet fruit wood chips.
  9. Cook @ about 300AF
  10. Total cooking time about 30 or 40 minutes, or until the pears are tender.
  11. To make the walnuts and butter: melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and cook a minute or two.
  12. Then add the crushed walnuts and cook for 2 or 3 minutes.
  13. Add the remaining spice brown sugar and cook for 1 minute.
  14. Remove from the heat and add vanilla extract.
