Biscochitos (Anise Seed Cookies) Recipe
- 6 c. flour
- 3 tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 teaspoon anise seed
- 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon
- Cream shortening with 1 c. sugar and anise seed.
- Add in the egg yolks.
- Sift together the flour, baking pwdr and salt.
- Fold in the water.
- Combine the two mixtures and knead till well mixed.
- Roll out to a 1/3 inch thickness and cut into fancy shapes.
- Combine the 1/4 c. sugar and cinnamon and dust the top of the cookies.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 min or possibly till lightly browned.
