Barbequed Lamb Shanks In The Oven Recipe
- 1/2 c. ketchup
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 dsh Tabasco sauce
- 1 x clove garlic chopped
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 4 x lamb shanks
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/4 c. water
- 4 med potatoes peeled, sliced 1/2" salt
- 1 x 16 ounce can whole green beans
- Combine all ingredients for sauce in a saucepan.
- Heat over low heat 5 min, stirring as needed.
- Heat oven to 350 F. Mix flour, 1 tsp.
- salt and pepper.
- Coat meat with flour mix.
- Heat shortening in a Dutch oven, brown meat and drain off fat.
- Brush meat with barbeque sauce.
- Pour water into pan.
- Cover and bake for 1 hour.
- Brush meat with barbeque sauce again.
- Add in potatoes and season with salt.
- Cover and bake 1 hour longer.
- Brush remaining barbeque sauce on meat.
- Add in beans and bake uncovered for 30 min.
