Sugar and Spice Cake
- 1 (18 ounce) package white cake mix
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 14 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons apple pie spice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 teaspoon almond extract
- buttercream icing
- Heat oven to 360 degrees.
- Beat all of the ingredients together at a low speed with an electric mixer until dry ingredients are moistened.
- Increase speed to medium, and beat two minutes until batter is smooth, stopping to scrape down the bottom and sides of bowl as needed.
- Pour batter into three greased and floured 8 inch cake pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 22 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool pans on wire racks 5 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks and cool completely for about one hour.
- Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze one hour or up to one month.
- Spread Vanilla Buttercream icing between layers, on top, and up the sides of cake.
- Garnish as desired.
