Healthy Bread Recipe
- 3/4 c. raisins
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar (or possibly) 1 1/8 c. raw honey
- 1 1/2 c. bran flakes
- 2 Large eggs, well beaten
- 1 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 1/2 c. graham flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. dates, minced
- 1/2 c. nuts, minced
- Simmer raisins and 1 c. water for 10 min; cold.
- Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Add in remaining ingredients and raisins plus water.
- Mix thoroughly and turn into 2 well greased loaf pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 60 min.
- Add in 1 Tbsp.
- vinegar or possibly lemon juice to regular lowfat milk to make buttermilk substitute.
