Bread And No Butter Pudding Recipe
- 8 slc White thick bread
- 2 c. Skim lowfat milk
- 1 whl egg
- 3 x Egg whites
- 200 gm Sultanas
- 4 Tbsp. Artificial pwdr, (e.g. splenda)
- Equally delicious but only 2.0g fat per serve:
- Spray a 21cm casserole dish with vegetable oil spray.
- Preheat oven to 200C.
- Remove crusts and cut bread into 2 1/2cm fingers.
- Spread a layer of bread slices (equiv to 2 slices) over the base of the dish and sprinkle 1/4 of the sultanas over this layer and then sprinkle 1 tblspn of powdered sweetener over the sultanas.
- Repeat layering till bread is all used.
- Mix egg, whites and lowfat milk together with a whisk and pour over the bread layers and bake in oven for 45-50 mins till set in the centre and lightly browned on top.
- If you are counting calories this is a good alternative to the real thing.
