Garlic White Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Drop unpeeled garlic cloves in pan of boiling water.
  2. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until softened.
  3. Remove garlic, slip off skins, and soak in maple syrup for about 30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, cream butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla with electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  5. Add flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing well.
  6. Drain garlic and chop it finely.
  7. Add garlic, white chocolate chips, and pecans to dough, and mix well.
  8. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  9. Drop dough by tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between cookies.
  10. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  11. Cool on wire rack.
