Apple Pecan Wild Rice Recipe

  1. Wash the rice in cool water and drain well.
  2. Saute/fry the onion in the margarine
  3. In a medium saucepan till tender, about 5 min.
  4. Add in the rice; cook and stir 1 minute.
  5. Add in the juice, broth, salt if you like, and cinnamon.
  6. Bring to a boil; reduce the heat.
  7. Cover and simmer till the rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 45 min.
  8. Stir in the apple; cover and let stand 5 min.
  9. Drain off any excess liquid before serving.
  10. Sprinkle with minced pecans, if you like.
