Apple cinnamon granola bars
- 2 cup old fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup ground flax seed
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2/3 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 8 oz dried and chopped apples
- 1 dash cinnamon
- preheat oven to 400
- mix dry mix in bowl
- put dry mix on baking sheet, bake 10-12 mins stirring every 3-4
- return dry mix to bowl
- add apple, mix well, set aside
- line glass baking pan with wax paper sprayed with non stick cooking spray
- heat wet mix in saucepan to a simmer, stirring constantly
- add wet mix to dry mix, mix well
- empty bowl into glass baking pan, flatten with spatula
- sprinkle cinnamon to taste
- using another sheet of wax paper covered in non stick cooking spray, press bars firmly until to compressed and flat
- cool completely, cut into bars
