Double Dipped Strawberries

  1. Line a large baking sheet with waxed paper.
  2. Wipe berries clean; dry with paper towel.
  3. Stir chocolate chips and shortning in top of double boiler set over simmering water until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth.
  4. Place chocolate sprinkles in a shallow bowl.
  5. Holding 1 berry by its green top, dip 3/4 of it into melted chocolate.
  6. Let excess chocolate drip off, then dip into sprinkles.
  7. Place on waxed paper lined sheet.
  8. Repeatdipping remaining berries.
  9. Refrigerate until chocolate coating is firm, about 1 hour.
