Yummy! Leek Okonomiyaki

  1. Chop the leek into largish pieces.
  2. Grate the nagaimo yam.
  3. Combine the leek, grated yam, egg, dried shrimp, and dashi granules in a bowl, and mix together.
  4. Add the flour and mix.
  5. Heat oil in a pan.
  6. Spread the batter from step 2 evenly into the pan.
  7. Cover with a lid and cook over low heat for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Turn the pancake over and cook without a lid until golden brown, and you are finished.
  9. Garnish the finished okonomiyaki with your choice of ingredients.
  10. Of course you can make this with cabbage instead of leeks.
