Broiled Flank Steak Recipe

  1. Trim excess fat from steak; score steak on both sides in 1 1/2 inch squares.
  2. Place half of onion slices in a 12 x8 x 2 inch baking dish.
  3. Top with steak and then remaining onion slices.
  4. Combine lemon rind and next 6 ingredients; pour over meat.
  5. Cover and chill 8 hrs, turning steak occasionally.
  6. Remove meat from marinade and place on a lightly greased rack in a broiler pan.
  7. Remove onion slices and throw away marinade.
  8. Set aside.
  9. Broil steak 4 inches from heat 6 to 8 min on each side.
  10. Cook reserved onion in 1 Tbsp.
  11. buter in a skillet till crisp-tender.
  12. To serve, slice steak across the grain into thin slices; top with onion.
