Hamburger Chowder

  1. Brown ground beef.
  2. Drain.
  3. Add tomatoes with juice (break up with spatula), carrots, celery, onion, barley, water, salt and pepper.
  4. Heat to boiling.
  5. Reduce heat to low.
  6. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
  7. Add potatoes, corn and green beans.
  8. Cover and simmer 45 minutes longer.
  9. More water can be added if necessary.
