Southern Railway Salisbury Steak
- 2 cups freshly ground beef
- 12 cup heavy cream
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 12 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- salt and pepper, as desired
- butter, for sauteeing
- Saute the finely chopped onion until clear.
- With clean hands carefully mix all of the ingredients together until a uniform mixture is obtained.
- Place mixture in the refrigerator for about an hour, then form into oblong "steaks".
- Fry in butter until light brown on each side and serve with your favorite mushroom sauce.
