Swiss Steak

  1. Preheat oven to 325 F. Mix the first 3 ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Place roast in a Dutch oven or roasting pan.
  3. Sprinkle garlic powder over the steak, then pour the remaining ingredients over the steak.
  4. Cover and cook for 3-4 hours or until steak is tender.
  5. If you are using a crockpot you may cook this on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4.
  6. Depending on how hot your crockpot runs, it may be done sooner.
  7. Serve with steamed brown or white rice, spooning sauce over steak and rice.
