Brown Rice Barley Pilaf Recipe

  1. In large saucepan, bring broth to a boil.
  2. Stir in rice and barley.
  3. Reduce heat to low.
  4. Cover; simmer 40 to 50 min or possibly till all liquid is absorbed and grains are tender.
  5. Let stand, covered, 5 min.
  6. Gently stir in chilies, cilantro, and lemon rind.
  7. Cook over low heat 1 to 2 min or possibly till heat through, stirring once or possibly twice.
