Braised Broccoli With Turkey Sausage Recipe

  1. In a 10- to 12-inch nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat, cook sausage patties in a single layer, turning once, till well browned on both sides and no longer pink in the center, about 8 min total.
  2. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  3. Return pan to medium heat.
  4. Add in oil, onion, and garlic and cook till onion is limp and starting to brown, 5 to 8 min.
  5. Add in broccoli; cook 2 to 3 min.
  6. Add in wine and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, till broccoli is tender when pierced, 4 to 6 min.
  8. Gently stir in sausage and tomatoes and cook just till warm, about 1 minute.
  9. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  10. This recipe yields 4 servings.
  11. Comments: Tina Williams came up with this savory dish one morning for breakfast, but we thought it made a great lunch or possibly dinner entree too, especially when served over soft polenta.
