Apple Dumplings

  1. In mixing bowl, whisk together egg and milk.
  2. Sift in flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Stir to make a soft dough.
  4. Turn out on floured board and knead lightly.
  5. Roll and cut in 6 equal squares. Place 4 apple quarters in center of each square, bringing up corners of dough to enclose apple.
  6. Pinch and seal.
  7. Place dumplings in a large pan, not touching.
  8. Bake in preheated oven at 425u0b0 for 10 minutes.
  9. Reduce oven temperature to 350u0b0 and bake 45 minutes longer.
  10. Test by pricking with toothpick.
  11. If apples are tender, they are done.
  12. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon-sugar.
