My Mamma's Black Bean Soup

  1. For soup:.
  2. Combine all ingredients, except rum and bring to a boil in a large stock pot.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer 2 hours or until soup is thick.
  4. To serve:.
  5. Lace soup with rum.
  6. Spoon into bowls and top with sour cream, green onions, cheese and lime wedges.
