Cheesy Baked Asparagus
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Italian* Five Cheese Blend
- 2 lb. fresh white asparagus spears, trimmed, blanched and cut into 2-1/2-inch lengths
- Heat oven to 425 degrees F.
- Melt butter in medium saucepan on medium heat.
- Add onions; cook and stir 3 to 5 min.
- or until crisp-tender.
- Whisk in flour; cook 2 min.
- Gradually whisk in milk until blended; cook on medium heat 3 to 5 min.
- or until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Add cheese; cook 1 min.
- or until melted, stirring constantly.
- Add asparagus; mix lightly.
- Spoon into 1-1/2 qt.
- casserole.
- Bake 15 min.
- or until heated through and lightly browned.
