Grilled BLT Salad

  1. Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Preheat grill to high (400F to 450F/200C to 230C).
  3. Brush the cut sides of lettuce with mayonnaise; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Grill lettuce, cut side down, until just starting to wilt, about 2 minutes.
  5. Turn lettuce and grill 3 minutes more.
  6. Transfer lettuce to a cutting board.
  7. Cut off the core ends.
  8. Drizzle each lettuce half with dressing, and sprinkle with bacon crumbles and tomatoes.
  9. Serve immediately.
