Round Steak Piquant Recipe
- 1/2 c. flour
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 lbs. round steak, 1 inch thick
- 3 tbsp. veg. oil
- 2 (8 ounce.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp. pepper
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
- 1 med. onion, sliced
- Combine flour, salt, and pepper.
- Cut steak into 6 serving pcs; dredge in flour.
- Put in oven-proof skillet with lid.
- Heat oil to medium-warm, slowly brown meat on both sides.
- Drain fat.
- Combine rest of ingredients, except onion slices, and pour over steak.
- Simmer, uncovered, about 5 min.
- Top with onion slices.
- Cover.
- Place in oven and bake at 350 degrees till fork tender, 1 or possibly 1 1/2 hrs.
