Orange Cookies

  1. Juice and grate the rind of the Orange; remove seeds from the juice.
  2. Cream together the Shortening and Sugar Replacement.
  3. Add Egg, Orange Juice and Grated Orange Rind, beating until light and fluffy.
  4. Combine Flour, Baking Powder, Soda and Salt in sifter, and add alternately with Buttermilk to creamed mixture.
  5. Stir to blend.
  6. Drop by teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheets, 2-3 in.
  7. apart.
  8. Bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes.
