Amish Haystack Recipe
- 2 lb Grnd beef
- 1 pkt (1-1/4 ounce) taco seasoning mix
- 14 ounce Newman Sockaronni sauce
- 2 c. Crushed saltines
- 9 ounce Crushed tortilla chips
- 2 c. Cooked warm rice
- 1 head thin sliced lettuce
- 2 c. Diced tomatoes
- 1 c. Minced carrots
- 1 c. Onions
- 1 c. Sunflower seeds
- 1 c. Sliced ripe olives
- 1 c. Diced green peppers
- 1 c. Diced celery
- 1 1/2 c. Shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 c. Crumbled cooked bacon
- 11 ounce Newman's Own salsa
- 1.
- In skillet, brown grnd beef with taco seasoning.
- Add in Sockarooni sauce; heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, till most of the liquid evaporates.

- Mix crushed crackers & tortilla chips in bowl.
- Place grnd beef mix, rice and remaining ingredients in individual bowls.

- Allow guests to serve themselves, layering as follows: lettuce - crushed crackers/chips - meat mix - rice - tomatoes - carrots - onions - olives pepper - celery - cheese - bacon - sunflower seeds - salsa
