Pear-Date Bars

  1. Combine all filling ingredients except pecans in 1-quart saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 2-3 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Boil 1 minute.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir in pecans.
  6. Heat oven to 375F.
  7. Combine flour, sugar and baking powder in large bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  8. Stir in egg.
  9. Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture.
  10. Press remaining crumb mixture on bottom of ungreased 8-inch square baking pan.
  11. Spread filling to within 1/4 inch of edge.
  12. Crumble reserved crumb mixture over filling.
  13. Bake 28-32 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. Cool completely.
  15. Combine all drizzle ingredients in bowl; mix well.
  16. Drizzle over bars.
  17. Cut into bars.
