Open-faced Falafel Burgers
- 1/2 cups Large Flake Oats
- 13 cups Cracked Wheat Or Bread Crumbs
- 1/2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Chickpeas, Drained.
- 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 13 cups Spanish Onion, Chopped
- 1 whole Egg, Beaten
- 1 teaspoon Curry Powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 2 teaspoons Liquid Honey
- 1/2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Lentils, Drained
- Oil, For Cooking The Patties
- 6 whole Greek-style Pita Breads
- 2 Tablespoons Tahini (sesame Paste)
- 2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
- 4 Tablespoons Plain Yogurt
- 1/2 cups English Cucumber, Sliced
- 1/2 cups Italian Parsley, Chopped
- 1 bunch Arugula
- 1 whole Red Bell Pepper, Quartered

- Pulse oats and cracked wheat (or bread crumbs) in a food processor until ground.
- Add chickpeas, garlic, onions, egg, spices, salt and honey.
- Mix until smooth.
- Transfer paste into a medium-sized bowl and add lentils.
- Shape into six 4-inch-wide patties.
- 2.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or frying pan over medium and add a small amount of oil.
- Cook patties, 2 at a time, until golden and warmed through, 4-5 minutes per side.
- Repeat with remaining patties.
- 3.
- Warm pita bread in the oven.
- Prepare tahini sauce by mixing the tahini, lemon juice, and yogurt; blend well.
- 4.
- Place falafel on pita bread.
- Top with tahini sauce and your favourite garnishes, such as cucumber, parsley, arugula, and bell pepper.
