Open-faced Falafel Burgers

  2. Pulse oats and cracked wheat (or bread crumbs) in a food processor until ground.
  3. Add chickpeas, garlic, onions, egg, spices, salt and honey.
  4. Mix until smooth.
  5. Transfer paste into a medium-sized bowl and add lentils.
  6. Shape into six 4-inch-wide patties.

  8. Heat a cast-iron skillet or frying pan over medium and add a small amount of oil.
  9. Cook patties, 2 at a time, until golden and warmed through, 4-5 minutes per side.
  10. Repeat with remaining patties.

  12. Warm pita bread in the oven.
  13. Prepare tahini sauce by mixing the tahini, lemon juice, and yogurt; blend well.
  14. 4.
  15. Place falafel on pita bread.
  16. Top with tahini sauce and your favourite garnishes, such as cucumber, parsley, arugula, and bell pepper.
