Dog Treats - Favorite Dog Biscuits

  1. Adjust rack to the lower third of the oven.
  2. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees (125 C.).
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Toss the whole wheat flour, oatmeal, wheat germ, powdered milk and garlic powder in a large bowl to blend thoroughly.
  5. Blend the water, peanut butter and egg until smooth.
  6. Add to the dry ingredients and stir until well blended (the dough will be stiff.
  7. You might find it easier to knead the mixture with your hands).
  8. Roll or pat the dough to a 1/2 inch thick rectangle.
  9. Cut out the biscuit shapes using a 3 inch bone shaped cookie cutter (Scraps are reusable).
  10. Place on the baking sheet and bake for 1 1/2 hours.
  11. For crispier, drier biscuits, bake an additional 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
