Spaghetti Pie Recipe
- 6 ounce. (al dente) vermicelli (don't rinse)
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 beaten Large eggs
- 1 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1 pound minced sirloin
- 1/2 c. minced green pepper
- 1/2 c. finely minced onions
- 1 teaspoon sugar, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano to taste
- 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 32 ounce. jar spaghetti sauce
- Cook vermicelli; drain well.
- Don't rinse.
- Put back in pot and add in butter to warm vermicelli and stir till coated.
- Add in Large eggs and stir till mixed.
- Add in Parmesan cheese and stir.
- Empty mix into 9-inch glass pie plate.
- Cover with plastic wrap using hands to shape.
- You should cover rim.
- Remove plastic.
- Meat Filling: Saute/fry meat, onions, pepper; drain oil well.
- Season meat to taste and add in sugar and 1/4 c. of cheese.
- Add in spaghetti sauce to meat to moisten and empty meat into spaghetti shell (in middle only), leaving rim exposed like a pie.
- Sprinkle top with the rest of cheese.
- Serve with extra sauce.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 min.
- Cover with foil if crust gets too brown.
