Deluxe Chocolate Marshmallow Bars

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa; add to creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in nuts, if desired.
  5. Spread in a greased jelly roll pan.
  6. Bake at 350F for 15-18 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over cake; return to oven for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Using a knife dipped in water, spread the melted marshmallows evenly over cake.
  9. Cool.
  10. Topping: Combine chocolate chips, butter and peanut butter in a small saucepan.
  11. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and well blended.
  12. Remove from heat; stir in cereal.
  13. Spread over bars.
  14. Chill.
