Brownies
- 1/2 cup butter
- margarine
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 dash salt
- 1-1/3 cup icing sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 3 tbsp. butter
- margarine
- 1 tbsp. hot water (add more if mixture is too firm)
- In a small saucepan, melt cocoa and butter, stirring as it melts.
- Remove from heat.
- In a medium sized bowl, beat eggs until frothy.
- Add sugar, flour, nuts, and salt.
- Pour the cocoa mixture over the dry ingredients, and stir together.
- Scrape batter into a greased 8x8-inch pan.
- Bake at 350F for 30 minutes, until the edges show signs of pulling away from the sides of the pan.
- Cut into 25 squares when cool.
