The Ultimate Grilled Chili Cheese Dog Wrapped in Bacon

  1. Boil hot dogs for about 4 or 5 minutes.
  2. Drain water and let cool completely.
  3. Slice a pocket into the hot dog and add the cheese and set aside.
  4. Mix all the ingredients for the meat patties, add the hamburger to the mixture last.
  5. Make 4 portions.
  6. One at a time place between two pieces of plastic wrap and press into a rectangle shape.
  7. Placed a hot dog (cheese side down) in the middle and wrap with meat patty (use the plastic wrap to help roll the patty around a hot dog).
  8. Work the meat patty well to seal in the hot dog.
  9. Then wrap with two slices of bacon.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  11. (these can be made a full day in advance)
  12. Set up your grill for Indirect Heat.
  13. Just before cooking place toothpicks through the side to secure the bacon to the burger (try not to pierce the hot dogs).
  14. Place on the grill over the drip pan and cook at 350F for 1 hour & 15 mins to 1 hour & 30 mins.
  15. When the bacon is fully cooked top with a little cheese and melt it before removing from the grill.
  16. Serve on a hoagie roll (because a hot dog bun will not be big enough) and serve with your favorite condiments.

cheese, bacon, hamburger, shredded cheese, ketchup, chili powder, salt, black pepper, garlic, onion, powdered cocoa, cumin, cayenne pepper
