Roman Apple Cake

  1. Combine in mixing bowl sugar, flour, salt, baking powder, soda, cloves and cinnamon.
  2. Beat in shortening, eggs, milk and vanilla.
  3. Add 3 cups raw apples, pared and chopped.
  4. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
  5. Crumble together melted margarine, cinnamon, brown sugar, flour and oats.
  6. Place on top.
  7. Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
