Chocolate Torte
- 1-1/2 pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Bittersweet Chocolate (6 oz.), broken into pieces
- 3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
- 3 cups mixed berries (sliced strawberries, raspberries and blueberries) Safeway 1 lb For $3.99 thru 02/09
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Place chocolate and butter in medium saucepan; cook on medium-low heat until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring frequently.
- Cool completely.
- Beat eggs and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until thickened and lemon colored.
- Add chocolate mixture; mix well.
- Sift flour over chocolate mixture; stir gently until well blended.
- Pour into greased and floured 8-inch square or round baking pan.
- Bake 35 min.
- or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool 5 min.
- ; invert onto serving platter.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into 9 pieces to serve.
- Top each serving with 2 Tbsp.
- of the whipped topping and 1/3 cup of the berries.
